#Rihanna’s Meltdown: Was Rehearsal Freakout The Reason She Canceled At #Grammys?

Fans were understanding when Rihanna canceled her Grammys performance for medical reasons — but is there more going on here than just a case of bronchitis? Rih reportedly had a MAJOR meltdown at rehearsals for the show, a new report claims. Could that be the real reason she pulled out?
So, is Rihanna, 27, actually battling an illness that’s forced vocal rest…or is there more behind the reason she decided to cancel her performance at the Grammy Awards at the last minute? The singer showed up at rehearsals for the show, but reportedly freaked out when things weren’t going the way she wanted. Uh-oh…

UPDATE: A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the reports of Rihanna’s rehearsal meltdown is “false information.”

Just hours before the live broadcast, Rihanna showed up to rehearsals as planned, but was reportedly “loudly” complaining about how everything was happening, according to TMZ. The site’s multiple sources claim the 27-year-old was “loud and upset” before deciding to officially cancel her performance at the last minute.

“Based on Rihanna’s examination, after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords,” RiRi’s rep said in a statement. “The antibiotics she’s been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately, therefore she cannot perform safely.”

It is not clear from the new report whether or not the cancellation was still based on the illness, but it’s interesting to note that Rihanna reportedly sounded fine while singing at rehearsals, TMZ‘s insiders claim. Plus, just two days earlier, she sang incredibly while honoring Lionel Richie at a pre-Grammys event. Hmm…
