How family of three escaped being crushed by truck in #Benin } DailyPost

Tragedy was Wednesday, averted as a family of three, the father, wife and nine months old baby narrowly escaped death when a truck conveying wood crushed into their vehicle.

The truck driver was said to have attempted to avoid crushing a certain little boy when he rammed the truck, marked XC 194 AGB, into six cars including a taxi with Reg. Nos: BON 519 XC.

The truck was said to have crushed the legs of the little boy, seven-year old.



Meanwhile, another truck that had reportedly failed brake was believed to have crushed a red Pathfinder jeep by First Junction along same Akpakpava road.

The driver of the jeep according to The Nation, was seriously injured in the crash.

The family, alongside a family friend were said to have just stepped out of their car, a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep when the accident occurred.

The father who identified himself as Osaro Otasowie, said he wanted to go inside the bank alone but the wife insisted that they followed him into the bank.

On how his family escaped death, Otasowie narrated, “I parked my vehicle and decided to go into the bank. I came out and my wife said they will go with me.

“So, we all went into the bank. When we came out, I saw a crowd and asked what happened; they said a truck hit a little boy.”

Still expressing shock, Otasowie further noted, “I was told the boy broke his leg. Soon afterwards, I saw my car under the truck.

“My wife, my nine months old baby and my friend were with me but God saved us by using my wife to tell me that they should join me.

“I am full of praises to God for averting tears from my family,” he added.
